Branding is probably the most important piece of a marketing plan. Donald Trump said “You can write a great book but if you don’t promote it then it will never be read.” Branding gives you something to promote that draws people to you. People are crazy about celebrities not because they represent the best aspects of character but because of the brand identity that’s associated with them. Think about some big players in the world of marketing. The Trump name is a brand in itself. You automatically associate it with a lavish lifestyle, fancy building projects, and power. Mr Trump has carefully crafted his brand name and now uses it to market just about anything. From Vodka and fashion to his real estate business. His brand is an automatic draw and now he is utilizing it in the MLM Industry. . In the product field you can go almost anywhere and people know the jingles and catch phrases of the big companies. The branding doesn’t actually have to have anything to do with the product itself. It just has to be repeated enough that it becomes recognizable. Branding is used by everyone with anything to sell. Years ago we attended a seminar on branding for the real estate industry. It made an immediate impact on us and we saw how we could take our business to another level. People at that event had no problem pulling out their credit cards and investing tens of thousands of dollars in order to get a tailor made branding program and it was a good investment in their business.
    Unfortunately the average MLM Business owner hasn’t been educated or had any experience in the area of  branding. The only things that get branded in most companies is the company itself and a handful of the top producers. It’s no wonder that those with the most branding have the greatest results. As business owners we have to create our own personal identity in order to attract people to our business. As a leaders you’ll have to differentiate yourself, from the masses of other representatives, in order to explode your production to a point where you are being promoted by the company. It’s in every companies best interest to showcase the top producers. This in turn builds there brand and positions them as people of value within the company and increases the belief in the masses of reps that they too can reach the top. Imagine what business is like for people that have built their production though hard work and determination to the point where they are essentially handed a ton of free publicity. That’s having your cake and eating it too.
